Making art is a daily practice.

"The best work happens when I stop trying to make something good, and just make something true."

Welcome to Artistic Habit — a name that says it all. Art isn't a special occasion for me; it's how I move through the world. The studio is wherever I am: a kitchen table, a garden bench, a corner of a coffee shop.

I work primarily in oils, watercolour, and drawing — each medium with its own logic, its own pace. Paintings take weeks. Drawings take minutes. Both teach me something I couldn't have known before I started.

If a piece speaks to you, it's yours to take home. If you'd like something made for a particular space, person, or memory — commissions are always welcome. Just reach out and we'll start a conversation.

How a piece comes to life

01

Observation

Everything starts with looking. A quality of light. A texture. The way something sits in space. I carry a sketchbook everywhere.

02

Exploration

Small studies, colour notes, rough drawings. I find the heart of an idea before committing it to a final surface.

03

Making

The actual painting or drawing. This is where plans dissolve and intuition takes over. The best work surprises me.
